Moving Up Chapel Speech
A tradition at Tess’s school was that during the last chapel of the year, the 8th graders would be in attendance for the first time. At the conclusion of the program, the graduating senior class would move from their seating section to the stage where the faculty usually sat, the juniors would move to the senior section, and so on, ending with the 8th graders for the first time taking their seats as high schoolers. Tess was asked by the school to give a talk on any subject of her choosing. This is what she came up with:
